VW ID. Buzz – Real-world review

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is the latest addition to VW’s growing family of EVs. It’s styled to mimic the iconic VW T2 bus from the sixties and seventies and VW is hoping to rediscover the magic with this new electric version. Harry‘s here to find out if this EV is as good to live with as it looks.
A little on info the ID. Buzz
When it first appeared as a concept in 2017, the ID. Buzz struck so many people’s heartstrings, the beloved VW camper looked like it was being reborn. Now we’re in 2022, and the actual car is hitting British roads in style, the two-tone paint, that iconic sloped front end, it hits the nostalgia bones in every way and we love that.

It uses the same MEB platform as the ID. 3, ID. 4 and ID. 5, but said platform is scalable to whatever VW decide they want, so with the Buzz it’s been lengthened so they can fit sliding doors on both sides. The same powertrain is carried over also, with a 77kWh battery feeding a 204bhp motor that drives the rear axle. Claimed range is 258 miles in ideal conditions, but in reality that’s probably around 200-230 miles dependent on the load and the weather among other things.

If an ID. Buzz is something you fancy for yourself, deliveries are starting to arrive and VW has even beaten their delivery targets on the ID. range, so now might be the right time to get your order in.
