Together for Water Charity Challenge

Together for Water Charity Challenge

Magnitude founder and director Tim Marlow – who many of you know – has teamed up with one of our specialist lenders, Aldermore to compete against other companies around the UK in a bid to raise money for the charity Tofauti: Together for Water.

Tofauti is a charity set up and run by Rio Olympics Team GB women’s hockey gold medal winner Crista Cullen, who’s Kenyan born and lives there today. Together for Water is all about building rural water provisions across Africa, mainly in Kenya, to prevent women and children walking up to 15 hours a day to collect water. The charity aims to provide as many locally-owned water dispensing machines, that are piped to wells, in order to combat the issue. With this, women and children can use their time on more productive purposes for their families and communities. Tofauti is on the ground in Kenya to build long-term solutions, rather than the short-term solutions offered previously, with these provisions being locally owned infrastructure and built to last. Between 5th September and 4th October, Tim, the Aldermore team, and many other companies will be competing to clock up the most miles by foot or bike in a league-style leaderboard. The objective is simple – the more miles they clock up, the less miles that have to be walked for water collection.

As it stands, Tim is topping the leaderboards in both team effort and individual efforts – he’s not one to be beaten easily…

Any donations large or small would be greatly appreciated, as all the teams strive to put in the miles so that others don’t have to. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here.
